Form 26Q – TDS Return Filing for Non-Salary Deductions

  • You can file Form 26Q online and offline.
  • People whose tax returns are being checked under Section 44AB
  • Check out the NSDL website to get the Return Preparation Utility (RPU) and the File Validation Utility (FVU). These will help you e-file.
  • It is possible to make the TDS report with the RPU.

Fees for Filing Late

Section 234E says that you will have to pay a late fee of ₹200 per day until the return is made if you file Form 26Q after the due date. But the total fine can’t be more than the amount. Also, Section 271H says that the Assessing Officer can fine someone between ₹10,000 and ₹1,000,000 for filing incorrectly or not at all.
