How to File CMP-03 Form Online
Composition Scheme Taxpayers are required to file form CMP-03 to get registered under the GST. The taxpayers who have migrated to GST from the previous tax regime in the country are eligible and required to file CMP-03. The form CMP-03 is an intimation of stock to furnish stock details, including the inward supply of goods from unregistered individuals. The form is to be filed within 90 days from the appointed date or as extended. This post is about how to file the CMP 03 form online on the GST portal.
Who Can File CMP-03?
Any taxpayer who meets the following eligibility criteria rules mentioned below can file the CMP-03.
- The individual taxpayer has opted for composition levy by filing form CMP-01
- The effective date of composition is the 1st of July 2017
- The applicant is a migrated taxpayer
Step-by-Step Guide to File Form CMP-03 Online
Step 1
Go to the GST Portal and log in with credentials. Now click on “services” and go to “registration” and opt for “stock intimation for opting composition levy”.
Step 2
Download the template from the portal and start editing the details as per the stock details.
Step 3
You will have an Excel file so unzip the same file and click on “Enable content” to edit the file.
Step 4
Provide GSTIN select the number of rows and submit details of purchases from registered dealers and purchases from unregistered dealers as well.
Step 5
To rectify the file, click on the “validate” button and review the file before the final submission.
Step 6
To upload the file on the GST Portal, click on “Generate file to Upload” then go to the GST Portal again and then click on “Stock intimation for composition levy” choose the file, and “Upload & Validate” It.
Step 7
Before making a final submission, update the balance in the Electronic Cash Ledger and pay off the liabilities to generate a ‘Data Entry Number”.
Tick mark the verification check box and enter the name of the authorized signatory and place. Submit the form either with DSC or EVC. An Application Reference Number is generated.
